"Valencia" club reached an agreement with "Porto" for the transfer of defender Nicolas Otamendi to "los Che".
The 25-year-old Argentine will sign a five-year contract with the Spanish team, and "Valencia", coached by Juan Antonio Pizzi, will pay 12 million euros for the footballer.
Recently, N.Otamendi has attracted interest not only from "Valencia", but also from clubs like "Manchester United", "Man City", and "Monaco".
The player himself said that it is an honor for him to join a team in which other Argentinians have played important roles in history.
"After a period at 'Porto' - a prestigious club - I am taking the next step in my career. It is an honor for me to join the 'Valencia' team."
"I know that Argentinians have been important figures in the team's history. Wearing the same club jersey as Mario Kempes, Roberto Ayala, or Pablo Aimar means a great responsibility which I will gladly take on," said N.Otamendi.
In the "Porto" team, the defender has been playing since 2010. He joined the Portuguese team from "Velez Sarsfield" for a transfer fee of 8 million euros.
