For 5.5 million euros, Turin secured the services of Christian Poulsen. The sum may increase by more than a million euros based on additional conditions stipulated in the contract.

The Danish national team player successfully passed a medical examination and put his signature on a three-year contract.

In Liverpool, Poulsen will most likely replace the Argentine Javier Mascherano, who once again expressed his desire to leave the team. He was of interest to Inter Milan, but now Barcelona is considered the favorite to lure him.

The 30-year-old newcomer to Liverpool moved to Italy in 2008 from Sevilla for almost 10 million euros, but he failed to shine and often found himself on the bench. Last season, in the Italian Serie A championship, he played 25 matches, starting in 19 of them.

Earlier this summer, the English team acquired Joe Cole, Milan Jovanović, Jonjo Shelvey, and Danny Wilson.
