Official: "Premier League" clubs will have more time to buy new footballers in the summer

"Premier" clubs officially agreed on Thursday that the player transfer window will close on the first day of September starting this summer.

This practice is applied throughout Europe, however the "Premier" league tested a variant in 2018, when the transfer window closed before the first matchday.

This caused many problems, as while English clubs could not buy new players, clubs from other countries could lure their footballers, and there was no longer possibility to replace departed players.

It was also confirmed today that the 2020-2021 "Premier" league season will start on August 8.

At a Shareholders’ Meeting today, #PL clubs voted to adopt a change to the Summer Transfer Window closing date for season 2020/21

The 2020 closing date will therefore be 17:00 BST on 1 September
