Paris Saint-Germain's official website announced that Leandro Paredes will now wear their team's jersey. The 24-year-old footballer has recently been playing for St. Petersburg's Zenit, but he has attracted the attention of European giants - London's Chelsea club also sought to acquire him. PSG paid 40 million euros for the Argentine. Paredes himself has already arrived in Paris and signed a four-and-a-half-year contract. "I am proud of this transfer," said the footballer. "After the experience I gained in Italy and Russia, I will now have the opportunity to get to know a new league. Moreover, I am extremely happy to be able to wear the jersey of this prestigious club." Paredes, capable of playing various roles in the defensive line, moved to Russia in the summer of 2017. Prior to that, the Argentine wore the jersey of Roma, as well as represented Empoli, Chievo, and Boca Juniors. In a year and a half with Zenit, the defender played 61 matches and scored 10 goals.
