On Monday, former Newcastle United coach Rafael Benitez bid farewell to the fans and already has a new workplace.
The 59-year-old Spaniard confirmed on his social media profile that he has been in charge of the top Chinese football league club "Dalian Yifang" for some time now.
R. Benitez successfully led the "Newcastle" team since 2016 and brought the team back to the Premier League.
The Spaniard himself stated in an open letter to the "Magpies" fans on Monday that he wanted to stay at the helm of the team, but his vision did not align with that of the club's leaders.
According to unofficial information, R. Benitez will earn around 12 million pounds sterling in China per year - twice as much as he was offered at Newcastle.
