"Lyon" officially confirmed that they have reached an agreement with 23-year-old Real Madrid youth product Mariano Diaz. Rumors of the sniper, who holds citizenship of the Dominican Republic and Spain, joining Lyon have been circulating for some time. It is reported that "Les Gones" will pay 8 million euros for their youth product. The player, who spent the entire previous season playing in the main team, has signed a contract with Lyon until 2022. "Mariano was one of our priority purchases, so we are happy that he is joining our team," said Lyon's manager Aulas. "Zinedine Zidane played a major role in this transfer. We hope that this move will be beneficial for both the player and us." Having opened the doors of the Real academy in 2011, M. Diaz was only the third choice in the striker position last season, but whenever given the chance, he always proved his worth. In 14 matches, the striker, known for his powerful shot, scored five goals and provided two assists. It is believed that M. Diaz will replace Alexandre Lacazette in Lyon's ranks.
