Official: "Roma" said goodbye to sports director Monchi

After stepping down from UEFA Champions League club "Roma", changes continue - sports director Monchi has also lost his job.

The 50-year-old Spaniard, best known for his work at Sevilla, arrived at Roma in May 2017.

In the Italian capital team, Monchi was unable to achieve the same heights as he did with Sevilla. The Romans reached the UEFA Champions League semi-finals last season, but this season's results and summer signings disappointed the club's management.

Monchi is known for his ability to attract players with great potential at a relatively low cost, and then sell them for a much higher price.

However, this model did not work at Roma, and it was decided on Friday to mutually terminate the contract.

There have been speculations in the media for some time that Monchi will join forces again with Unai Emery, who works at London's Arsenal club. His services are still of interest to two Spanish giants - Barca and Real.
