The English Football Association has confirmed that Sam Allardyce has been appointed as the new head coach of the national team of this country.

The 61-year-old strategist takes over from Roy Hodgson, who resigned after losing to Iceland in the quarter-finals of the European Championship. Agreeing to work as the head coach of the England national team, Allardyce stepped down from Sunderland club, where he worked for nine months.

It is said that in the competition for this position, Allardyce outperformed Hull City manager Steve Bruce and United States national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann.
