Madridd's "Atletico" has added "Sassuolo" defender Sime Vrsaljko, who signed a five-year contract.
The long-awaited Croat will join Diego Simeone's team, joining fellow summer newcomer Nico Gaitano.
The transfer fee is undisclosed.
"Playing for 'Atletico' is a great honor for me, I am very happy," Vrsaljko told the club's official website.
The 24-year-old player, who played two matches in the European Championship, helped his team finish in a surprisingly low position in Serie A last season.
As the main reason why they acquired Vrsaljko, "Atletico" sports director Luiz Perez Caminero named his ability to play on both sides of the field.
