Mike Ashley's 14-year reign at Newcastle United has ended. The Saudi Arabian consortium Public Investment Fund (PIF) has acquired 80% of the shares from the English businessman, as officially announced by the Premier League. This step cost the Saudi Arabian consortium 300 million pounds sterling. Earlier it was announced that after this takeover, Newcastle may part ways with Steve Bruce, who is currently the team's head coach. The new owners of Newcastle United will likely be the richest in the football world.
