English National Team defender Sol Campbell will play for the team next season - the player signed a 2-year contract with the club without any transfer fee.
S.Campbell has already agreed on all contract details and has passed a medical examination at the club.
S.Campbell represented the London team for the past 5 seasons, but decided not to renew his contract at the end of last month and became a free agent, stating that he wanted to "seek a new challenge". Immediately after that, the player was actively pursued by Portsmouth's head coach Harry Redknapp, and he was also linked with Inter Milan and Fenerbahce in Istanbul.
S.Campbell is the third player to join the team led by H.Redknapp this summer - before him, Glen Johnson, who was loaned from Chelsea, and David Thompson joined the club.
