David Silva became a full-fledged member on Thursday. The English paid almost 29 million euros for the Spanish national team's right-back for Valencia.

An agreement was reached more than a week ago, but Silva underwent a medical examination and signed a four-year contract only after the end of the World Cup.

"I will be happy if we finally secure a place in the Champions League," said the Spaniard. "Or if we win trophies.

"My first goal is to get into the main team, and then fight for the country's championship title and other tournaments."

Silva is the third acquisition of "Man City" this summer. Earlier, Germany national team defender Jerome Boateng and Ivory Coast goalkeeper Yaya Toure were acquired.
