Southampton confirmed that their squad has been bolstered by Joe Aribo, who played for Glasgow Rangers last season. The attacking midfielder has signed a four-year contract with the "Saints". Southampton paid £6 million upfront for the Nigerian national team player, as well as £4 million in bonuses. Southampton coach Ralph Hasenhuttl said: "Joe is a player with many good qualities, and we are delighted to have him in our team." "We believe Joe can bring us energy and creativity. He feels comfortable in various positions, which is very beneficial for me as a coach and shows that he has a high level of football intelligence and can quickly absorb new information." "He has played many matches in his career, and his performances in the Europa League show that he has the quality to play in the Premier League. This is a big ambition for him, and he wants to show everyone that he can do it." Last season, the 25-year-old footballer played 57 matches, scoring 9 goals and providing 10 assists. Aribo became Southampton's fifth signing this summer. Other new additions to the team include Gavin Bazunu, Mateusz Lis, Armel Bella-Kotchapas, and Romeo Lavia.
