“Southampton” report that they have loaned center-back Steven Caulker from “Queens Park Rangers”.
The Englishman played 36 games in the Premier League last season, but could not help his team stay in the top division. The same fate befell Caulker in 2013-14 while representing “Cardiff City”.
“The Saints” had to pay a seven-figure sum for the defender’s loan, but the exact amount is not disclosed.
Caulker is the sixth addition to "Southampton" this summer - earlier the team was reinforced by Juanmi, Cedric Soares, Cuco Martina, Jordy Clasie and Maarten Stekelenburg.
Manager Ronald Koeman had to look for reinforcement in his defense after Toby Alderweireld, who also played on loan last year, left for “Tottenham” in London.
