The Lisbon team officially confirmed the news that had spread a few days ago.

The "Sporting" team bid farewell to head coach Joao Pereira just a few weeks after his appointment.

The 40-year-old failed to show breathtaking results and adequately replace Ruben Amorim, who left for "Man Utd."

"Sporting" is not satisfied with the results in both the UEFA Champions League (17th place) and the domestic championship (2nd-3rd places).

The press reports that the decisive match for the specialist may have been the game in the Portuguese championship that ended in a draw (0:0) against the "Gil Vicente" team.
