As the new English Premier League season approaches, Stoke City team has finally announced their first summer acquisition. It is the promising 19-year-old Egyptian Ramadan Sobhi.
The duration of the contract is not specified, but it is clear that "the Potters" might have to pay up to 6 million euros for one of the most promising African footballers.
"We are pleased that we managed to attract a player with so much potential," said Stoke City chairman Tony Scholes. "He is an exceptional young footballer who has a role assigned for the upcoming season."
Last season in the local Egyptian football league, R. Sobhi and his team Al Ahly became champions of the country. He contributed to the triumph with six goals and 12 assists.
According to the Stoke City website, clubs such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Arsenal also showed interest in the player.
