Official: "Stoke" will coach P. Lambert

"Stoke City" announced that they have signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with coach Paul Lambert.

The "potters" manager position will be taken over by the dismissed Mark Hughes, who had to say goodbye to his job after a very poor series. In the last 11 matches, the team suffered eight losses.

Furthermore, "Stoke" was eliminated from the FA Cup in the third round, losing to the fourth division team "Coventry City".

Lambert's task is to lift the team out of the relegation zone, as they are currently ranked 18th in the "Premier" league standings.

In the past, Lambert led "Norwich" from the third league to the English Championship, but later his stints at Birmingham's "Aston Villa", "Blackburn Rovers", and "Wolverhampton Wanderers" were not as successful.

Nevertheless, "Stoke" chairman Peter Coates justified the decision to sign the contract with Lambert by the fact that he demonstrated excellent knowledge of the "potters" squad and already has a plan to improve their results.
