After spending two years at London's “Chelsea” club, Timo Werner returned to play in his native country. “RB Leipzig” officially announced that they have reclaimed the 26-year-old forward. It is reported that Leipzig club paid 20 million euros for this transfer. Less than two years ago, “Chelsea” paid a whopping 53 million euros for T. Werner. In 2 seasons at the “Chelsea” club, T. Werner scored 19 goals and provided 12 assists. The forward also played a crucial role in winning the Champions League title. Before moving to the Premier League, Werner scored 28 goals and made 8 assists in one season in the Bundesliga. This is the third Leipzig purchase this mid-season. The club also acquired defensive midfielder Xaver Schlager and full-back David Raum.
