After the season, "Barcelona" will have to look for a new coach.
On Wednesday in the "La Liga" championship, the Catalans crushed "Sporting Gijon" at home 6:1, but the euphoria evaporated when they heard the coach's decision.
The 46-year-old coach announced that he will not extend his contract ending after the season, as he wants to rest.
L.Enrique was ready to leave already after the first season with "Barcelona" team, when he won all possible titles - triumphed in the Champions League, the Spanish championship, and won the King's Cup.
"I want to inform everyone that I will not lead the Barcelona club next season. This is a difficult but deliberate decision.
"I need rest and that is the main reason why I intend to leave," said Enrique, who has been working at the club since 2014.
