On Tuesday evening, London's "Tottenham" confirmed what had been known for some time - starting from the next season, their team colors will be defended by the 22-year-old Frenchman Tanguy Ndombele.
The central midfielder, who belonged to the "Lyon" club, arrived in London on Monday, successfully underwent a medical examination, and today put his signature on a six-year contract.
For "Tottenham" this is a record purchase - they paid 60 million euros for him. An additional 10 million euros are included in the bonus amount. So, the total deal for the "Spurs" team will most likely cost 70 million euros.
T. Ndombele has made his mark on both the "Tottenham" and "Lyon" history pages. If he was the most expensive purchase for the "Spurs" club, "Lyon" has never sold their player for such a high amount.
The highly-rated Frenchman had been playing for "Lyon" since 2017. In two seasons, he managed to play 98 matches and score four goals.
This summer, T. Ndombele's services were also of interest to "Manchester United" and Turin's "Juventus".
