London's "Tottenham" club has announced the acquisition of Spanish national team forward Roberto Soldado from the "Valencia" team.
According to unofficial information, this footballer will cost Andre Villas-Boas' team 30 million euros. Reports say that 12 million will be paid immediately, with an additional 6 million per year to Valencia's account.
The center forward position was one of A. Villas-Boas' priorities this summer, as both Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe failed to meet the coach's expectations last season.
The Spaniard began his career in the academy of Madrid's "Real" club, later playing for "Osasuna" and "Getafe" before moving to "Valencia" in 2010 for 10 million euros from "Getafe."
Last season, R. Soldado showed excellent form, scoring 25 goals in 34 matches in the Spanish championship.
The footballer has played 11 matches for the Spanish national team, scoring 6 goals.
This summer, "Tottenham" is acquiring its third player. Prior to this, the London team added "Corinthians" midfielder Paulinho and "Twente" winger Nacer Chadli.
In total, A. Villas-Boas has spent around 50 million pounds sterling during this transfer window, but this amount will likely be offset by Gareth Bale's sale to "Real" club. "Tottenham" could receive up to 100 million pounds sterling for the Welshman.
"Valencia" has already planned who will replace the departing R. Soldado. For 3 million euros, the "bats" should add "Real Zaragoza" striker Helder Postiga to their ranks.
