The new head coach of "Aston Villa" is Unai Emery, who moved from "Villarreal" to England.
Reportedly, the Birmingham club will pay a €6 million release clause to the Spanish team for the 50-year-old strategist, whose contract was supposed to expire in the summer of 2023.
U. Emery has won four Europa League titles in his career, reaching the final a total of 5 times.
Last season, the Spaniard achieved an impressive feat with "Villarreal" - reaching the Champions League semi-finals.
However, in the local leagues, the "yellow submarine" did not perform well. Eventually, "Villarreal" finished in 7th place and is currently playing in the Conference League.
U. Emery quickly agreed to the conditions set by "Aston Villa." As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Birmingham club offered the coach a long-term project.
Midway through last season, the 50-year-old specialist was linked to a move to "Newcastle United," but ultimately declined that job and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League with "Villarreal."
In England, U. Emery coached the "Arsenal" team, but did not achieve the main goal of the Champions League.
