Lithuanian national team defender Vytautas Andriuškevičius changes teams in the MLS - the 27-year-old footballer was sold to the Eastern Conference side "D.C. United".
Continuing his career as a legionnaire since 2010, V. Andriuškevičius arrived in the MLS in 2016. Initially, the Lithuanian was a solid starter for the Portland "Timbers" team, but lately he had been barely playing, so a decision was made to make changes.
It is announced on the official "Timbers" website that the Lithuanian is being sent to "D.C. United" for a fee of 50 thousand USD.
In the ranks of "D.C. United" plays former England national team and "Manchester United" star Wayne Rooney, but the team is having a very unsuccessful season in the MLS - after 19 games played, they are in the last place in their conference.
The defender known as Vytas in the USA has played a total of 39 matches in the MLS, scored one goal, and provided five assists.
The player himself wrote on his Facebook page: "I couldn't imagine better home. You welcomed me with open arms in this wonderful city, loved me and supported me. My time here is unforgettable.
Now I'm starting a new chapter of my life, far from the beautiful forests of Oregon and the cold coast. Still, I am convinced that we will meet again."
Welcome to the club, Vytas!
