Official: V. Kompany leaves "Man City" and returns to "Anderlecht"

On Saturday evening, after triumphing in the FA Cup, "Manchester City" confirmed the next morning that Vincent Kompany played his last game for the club.

The 33-year-old footballer was the longest-serving player in the "Man City" team until now. The Belgian joined the team in 2008 and played a total of 360 matches.

V. Kompany has been plagued by injuries in recent years, but in the second half of this season, he returned to the starting lineup and made a strong contribution to the historic "Man City" treble.

Both parties decided not to extend the current contract until this summer, after which V. Kompany will become a free agent and will be able to choose his new career path.

"As painful as it is, the time has come to leave," - clarified V. Kompany his decision. - "It's unbelievable to leave after such a season. I feel nothing but the greatest respect. I am infinitely grateful to everyone who supported me on this special journey."

V. Kompany won 12 trophies in his 11 years at the "Man City" club, including four "Premier League" titles.

Soon after the announcement of his departure, V. Kompany also revealed that his next career destination is the "Anderlecht" club in Brussels, where he started his professional career.

Interestingly, V. Kompany will not only play for "Anderlecht" club but will also be appointed as the head coach.
