On the official website of "Manchester United," a message appeared that the "Red Devils" have signed a contract with 32-year-old goalkeeper Victor Valdes.
The Spaniard, who suffered a serious injury at the end of February 2014, has been a free agent since the summer when his contract with "Barcelona" expired.
As announced on the "Man Utd" website, the experienced goalkeeper signed an 18-month contract with the possibility of extending it for another year.
"It is a real honor to sign a contract with 'Man Utd.' I want to thank Louis van Gaal and the club for helping me recover from the injury. I worked with van Gaal at Barcelona and I am very happy to have the opportunity to work with him in Manchester," said the Spanish national team goalkeeper.
Interestingly, David De Gea, who has been in excellent form, plays for "Man Utd." It is believed that this could speed up talks about the young goalkeeper's move to "Real" Madrid, although Valdes was likely acquired as a backup goalkeeper.
