Official: "West Ham" club strengthened by a goalkeeper from Norway

Having demonstrated excellent results this season, but left out of the European tournament, "West Ham" announced their first summer purchase.

"Hammers" on their official website stated that on July 1st, the club will strengthen its squad with Borussia Monchengladbach's defensive midfielder Havard Nordtveit. "West Ham" will not have to pay the Germans for the player - the Norwegian's contract with "Gladbach" ends this summer.

The player himself reached an agreement with "West Ham" for a five-year contract. H. Nordtveit belonged to London's "Arsenal" club from 2007 to 2010, but he failed to make his debut in the ranks of the "Gunners".

"I arrived at "Arsenal" when I was only 17. I had the opportunity to train with the first team and participate in friendly matches. I sat on the bench, but I never got the chance to play a single minute in the Premier League. Now I will have the opportunity to fulfill this dream," - said the Norwegian.

H. Nordtveit has worn the jerseys of four other teams during his career, aside from "Arsenal" and "Gladbach". In total, the defender played 177 matches and scored 12 goals for Borussia Monchengladbach.
