One of the leaders of the Swiss national team Xherdan Shaqiri has officially moved to play for Chicago Fire. The club officially announced the acquisition of X. Shaqiri from Lyon team. It is reported that the MLS club paid about 7.5 million dollars for the Swiss player. X. Shaqiri played for Lyon for less than a week, wearing the team's jersey in a match against Marseille and making an impact. However, the overall performance did not satisfy the French club, leading to the decision to part ways if a suitable offer comes in. X. Shaqiri moved to Lyon last summer after leaving Liverpool. During his career in Europe, the 30-year-old midfielder has won two Champions League titles - one with Bayern and the other with Liverpool.
