Officially joining "Bayern", P. Coutinho: "I have very big ambitions"

"Barcelona" officially confirmed on Monday morning that Philippe Coutinho will spend the upcoming season at Munich's "Bayern" club.

The Brazilian, who became a record purchase for the Catalan team, but failed to fulfill expectations, is going to Germany on a loan basis. The official statement indicates that Bayern will pay 8.5 million euros for the season-long loan.

Next summer, Bayern will have the option to acquire the player outright, but will have to pay a significant amount - 120 million euros.

Philippe Coutinho arrived in Munich on Sunday, and today he will already appear at the training center.

"This is a new challenge for me - I am arriving in a new country and one of the best clubs in Europe", said the attacking midfielder in his first interview.

"I am very excited to start this journey. Like Bayern itself, I have big ambitions and I am convinced that together with my new teammates we will achieve our goals", added Coutinho, who became a South American champion with the Brazilian national team this summer.

Coutinho will wear the number 10 jersey at Bayern, which was worn by Arjen Robben, who ended his career this summer after wearing it for the last ten years.

The 27-year-old midfielder played 54 matches for Barcelona last season, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists.
