Bruno Fernandes has officially joined the team of Manchester United.
Sporting confirmed yesterday that Man Utd will pay 55 million euros for the player. The total transfer amount can rise to 80 million euros - an additional 25 million euros could be paid as bonuses.
Last night, the Portuguese arrived at the Man Utd headquarters and officially signed a 5.5-year contract. The contract includes the option to extend the collaboration for another year.
The player, in his first interview, did not hide his joy and pride in being able to wear the Manchester United jersey.
"My love for the Manchester team started when I started watching Cristiano Ronaldo. That's when I became a big fan of this club," - recalled B. Fernandes.
"Coming to the Man Utd club is something unbelievable. I have worked my whole life for this moment. I can promise the fans that I will always give my all to achieve even greater success and trophies.
"A big thank you to Ole (Solskjaer) and the Man Utd club for showing such trust in me. I can't wait to step onto the field," - said the footballer.
Having scored 67 goals in 137 matches for Lisbon's Sporting team, B. Fernandes could debut in the Man Utd ranks this Saturday in a match against Wolves.
