French national team striker Olivier Giroud can boast of an exceptional achievement.
In a friendly match against Belarus, the veteran who scored a goal in the national team's all-time statistics list surpassed the legendary Zinedine Zidane.
The World Champion has scored 31 goals in 108 games, while Giroud has punished opponents the same number of times in 73 matches.
"I equaled Z. Zidane and nobody can take that away from me. David Trezeguet has scored three more goals and now I want to catch up with him as quickly as possible.
From a personal perspective, that's my goal and ambition," Giroud said.
In the French national team's record list, D. Trezeguet is still behind Michel Platini (41) and Thierry Henry (51).
