The black past of the "Olympiakos" team was revealed by old sins. Greek and Italian media report that the most powerful club in the country may be relegated to the second strongest championship due to fixed matches. The "Olympiakos" team has been previously accused of unfairly winning a match (2:1) against the "Atromitos" team in 2015. Even 15 individuals from both clubs were under serious suspicion of involvement in betting, but the case was later dropped. According to the press, the Piraeus club rejoiced too early - with the renewed accusations, the Greek championship leaders face relegation to the second strongest Greek league, a fine of 3 million euros, and the disqualification of club owners, referees, and other individuals involved in the manipulation. This would mean that "Olympiakos" owner Evangelos Marinakis would be forced to sell both the Piraeus team and the "Nottingham Forest" team playing in the "Championship."
