"Olympiakos" and "Panathinaikos" games - fan-made riots (VIDEO)

During the 25th round of the Greek football championship, the match between traditional mortal rivals - Piraeus' "Olympiacos" and Athens' "Panathinaikos" - once again turned into serious clashes between police representatives and fans. This time, the fervent supporters of "Panathinaikos" club, playing at home, stood out - they several times invaded the field, threw firecrackers, and tried to clash with the riot police.

In the match the day before, as "Olympiakos" football players were getting ready for the game, they were bombarded with firecrackers and other pyrotechnics.

Later, a group of "Panathinaikos" fans invaded the field, trying to harm the opponents' fans: according to the police, the fans had pieces of reinforcement, metal chains, and even metal parts of fences surrounding the field in their hands. Only police efforts and tear gas were able to "calm down" the enraged Athens team hooligans.

The match was delayed by 15 minutes. The second half also did not start on time, as when the "Olympiakos" team appeared on the field, it was bombarded with firecrackers, and a metal chair was thrown at the coach of the Piraeus club.

At the end of the duel, when Alejandro Dominguez scored a goal, the "Panathinaikos" fans once again tried to cause disturbances, but once again the police units did their job excellently. Seeing that the match could escalate into a serious incident, the referee interrupted the fight, even though a few additional minutes were supposed to be played.

"Panathinaikos" defeated the visitors from Piraeus 2:1, reducing the gap from the country's champions to three points.
