On Saturday, three matches of the 14th round of the Spanish championship were played. Victories were celebrated by Madrid's "Real" and Vigo's "Celta", while the match between Bilbao's "Athletic" and Madrid's "Atletico" ended in a draw.

In a tough home victory in the Madrid derby against "Getafe", "Real" prevailed. Brazilian player, who had recovered from injury, scored in the 18th minute to put the hosts ahead after exchanging passes with Zinedine Zidane and sending the ball into the net. However, "Getafe" dominated the match, which was further highlighted in the 56th minute when Englishman David Beckham received a red card for a foul on Riki.

Despite the visitors' inability to capitalize on their numerical advantage, "Real" celebrated victory in front of 72,000 spectators, despite a rather lackluster game.

Seville's "Betis" players, who are still struggling in the UEFA Champions League, suffered a 1-2 defeat away to in-form Vigo "Celta" team. The static away defense allowed Uruguayan Nestor Fabian Canobbio to score just 5 minutes into the match. The same player, D. Placente, provided an assist in the 20th minute for "Celta's" top scorer Fernando Baiano to double the lead with a header. Although former "Celta" defender Edu scored a goal with a header towards the end of the match, "Betis" player Oscar Lopez was soon sent off the field.

It is worth mentioning that "Betis" has not won a single away match this season and currently occupies the last place in the standings.

Mateja Kežman's goal after Maxi Rodriguez's assist allowed Madrid's "Atletico" to take the lead in the match against local team "Athletic" in Bilbao, but then the visitors had to defend against the hosts' attacks almost throughout the match, and they did it successfully until the very end - defender Pablo Orbaiz equalized the score with a header in the sixth minute of added time.
