On Saturday the new LVJUFA I league season will begin

105 club teams have registered to play in the 2023-2024 Lithuanian Children and Youth Education Football Association (LVJUFA) First League.

The First League consists of U13, U14, U15, U16, and U18 divisions, where teams compete for tickets to the highest level competitions. The competition consists of a regional group stage, after which the best performing teams play in the super-finals of their age groups.

This year, LVJUFA will try out innovations to help teams in regions facing player recruitment challenges. In the U15 and U16 age groups, teams will have the right to register and allow 2 players who are one year older to play on the field. Teams utilizing this rule will not be eligible for the super-final or awards.

Considering the abundance of duplicate and subsidiary teams in the U13 and U14 divisions, it was decided to create a South-East group B subgroup where they will compete against each other.

The first matches will be played on August 19. It is expected that the group stage of the competition will finish on June 2, 2024.
