On Sunday, the last five matches of the 2015-16 season were played in the Spanish "Primera" division.
After the 38th round, it was revealed that Madrid will no longer have four of the strongest clubs in the country's division: two capital teams - "Rayo Vallecano" and "Getafe" - are dropping to a lower division.
"Sporting Gijon" won against "Villarreal" with a score of 2-0 and remained in 17th place, guaranteeing them a place in the "Primera" championship. "Rayo Vallecano" also won their opponents, but they were one point short of success.
The last match in Spain was played by Giedrius Arlauskis' club, Barcelona's "Espanyol". The Catalans won 4-2 against "Eibar", but the Lithuanian goalkeeper watched the match from the bench.
The last match ended with "Malaga" winning 4-1 against "Las Palmas". With 48 points, the Andalusian team remains in eighth place in the tournament table.
From the second most powerful team in the Spanish football league, no team has yet secured a ticket to the "Primera" division.
