The football club "Panevėžys" once again had its weekly training cycle and will face a rival for the second time in a row, a team that has won all their matches against them this year. The 31st round of the "TOPsport A League" marks the first trip to Raudondvaris – a confrontation awaits against the Kaunas district "Hegelmann" club in honor of the new stadium opening.

The team coached by Andrius Skerla has handed the Panevėžys club three defeats – 4:2, 2:0, and 1:0. In the league table, the blue and whites are still in the race for the championship title, having earned 56 points after 29 matches.

The "Hegelmann" team has achieved 16 victories, drawn 8 times, and lost 5 times. Last week, the Kaunas district club ended a match against the leaders, Vilnius "Žalgiris," in a 1:1 draw, while on Wednesday, they were defeated 2:1 by Telšiai's "Džiugas" in the semifinals of the "FPRO LFF Cup."

Last Sunday, the Panevėžys team overcame Gargždai "Banga" with a score of 3:2; however, they will be without the suspended Nicolas Gorobsovas in the upcoming match. One of the best players from the recent match, Ernestas Veliulis, shared his thoughts on the fk-panevezys.lt website.

"In Gargždai, we were fresher. We didn't feel the burden we had while playing in Europe, where we had to play a lot of matches every three days."

"Hegelmann" is performing excellently this year and shows good gameplay, so we know it will be very difficult matches. I believe the opening of the new stadium will motivate them even more to perform in front of the gathered fans," said the midfielder, who has scored four goals in the "TOPsport A league" this year.

The duel between "Hegelmann" and "Panevėžys" will take place on September 22, Sunday. The match will begin at 5 PM at the Raudondvaris stadium.
