Bilbao "Athletic" officially announced that 53-year-old football specialist Ernesto Valverde will not coach the team next season.
The Basque club's website states that E. Valverde will no longer continue working with the "Athletic" team. Tomorrow at 1 p.m. Lithuania time, a press conference will be held where the strategist will try to explain his decision.
It is undeniable that E. Valverde's next career stop will be the "Barcelona" club. The Catalans have already confirmed that Luis Enrique will step down from his position as head coach at the end of the season.
"Barcelona" also announced on their official website yesterday that on May 29th, the new team coach will be presented.
E. Valverde has been leading the "Athletic" team since 2013. Throughout his career, the strategist has also coached the Barcelona "Espanyol", Piraeus "Olympiacos", "Villarreal" and "Valencia" clubs.
This season, under the guidance of the Spaniard, the "Athletic" team finished in seventh place in the Spanish top division.
