Preparing for the season, Lithuania's "A Lyga" clubs will play a number of friendly matches this weekend - seven Lithuanian championship teams will test their strength on the football fields against each other or against foreign teams.
Two Vilnius teams currently in Turkey will play on Saturday against clubs from neighboring countries - "Vilnius" will face Grodzisko "Groclin" from the highest league in Poland, while "Vėtra" will play against Krasnodar "Kuban" who finished 2nd in the Russian second division last season.
One game was supposed to take place in Palanga, where at 11 o'clock after returning from Latvia, "Šiauliai" was preparing to meet Klaipėda's "Atlantas", who have been playing matches by the sea recently, but due to a poor field condition, the clubs decided not to play.
However, most of the matches will take place in the covered arena of the capital's "Sportima". At 3 PM, the Lithuanian champion FBK "Kaunas" will play against the LFF Cup winner Marijampolė's "Sūduva" club, followed by matches of their reserve teams.
Meanwhile, at 7 PM, Vilnius' "Žalgiris" awaiting a legionnaire from Slovakia will play against Gardinas "Neman" team coached by Lithuanian Liudas Rumbutis.
On Sunday, another match will also take place in "Sportima" - at 1 PM, "Sūduva" will try to play against the reserves of "Vėtra" who did not go to Turkey.
