Italy has decided to fight against manifestations of antisemitism.

It is reported that from the upcoming season, players in "Serie A" will not be allowed to choose jerseys marked with the number 88.

Such a decision was confirmed on Tuesday by the country's FA president Gabriele Gravina.

The letter H - the eighth letter of the alphabet, and the combination of two eights is used in neo-Nazi symbolism as a greeting "Heil Hitler."

However, last season there were not many players in the strongest Italian league who wore such jerseys. Both of them were Croats: Rome's "Lazio" representative Toma Bašić and Bergamo's "Atalanta" defender Mario Pašalić.
