Coentrao signed a contract with the "Rio Ave" club, where he was born and started his professional career. Real Madrid purchased F. Coentrao for 30 million euros in the summer of 2011. The defender's game satisfied the "white" fans until the injuries - the Portuguese even displaced Marcelo from the starting position for two seasons. In total, the Portuguese spent five seasons at Real Madrid. During that time, he played 106 matches, scored one goal, and won 10 titles.
