One of the best Nigerian national team goalkeepers of all time, Vincent Enyeama, announced today about the end of his career in the national team.
It is said that the 33-year-old goalkeeper had to make this decision due to strained relations with the new team coach, Sunday Oliseh. According to reports, the goalkeeper, who belongs to the "Lille" club, arrived at the training camp in Belgium on Wednesday, but was sent away from it.
Furthermore, upon arriving at the Nigerian national team training sessions, V. Enyeama found out that his captain's armband was taken over by Ahmed Musa. The goalkeeper was included in the national team for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, but will not play any more matches for it.
"I fought for my country for over 13 years, but I will no longer be the captain or goalkeeper of the national team. God, bless Nigeria," - wrote the African in his "Instagram" profile.
V. Enyeama wore the Nigerian national team's jersey since 2002. During this period, he played 101 matches, participated in four World Cups, and once triumphed on the African continent.
