Journalist Fabrizio Romano and "The Athletic" announce that in the near future, RB Leipzig center-back Ibrahim Konate is set to join Liverpool for a reported fee of 35 million euros. This transfer has been widely discussed since January, and Konate has already undergone a medical examination, with personal terms agreed back on April 23. It is also reported that Liverpool will not trigger the buy option for loaned player Ozan Kabak from Schalke, which was set at 18 million euros. If nothing changes, the Reds do not see Kabak in their future plans. Konate, 22, has been representing Leipzig since 2017, playing a total of 95 games and scoring 4 goals. Meanwhile, Kabak has played 13 games for Liverpool, including 4 in the Champions League, and was a regular starter before his injury.
