Greece national team coach Otto Rehhagel asked the main striker of the national team, Angelos Charisteas, to leave the Bremen club. The coach believes that the opening of the new transfer window this January would be a great opportunity to leave the German team.
At the moment, A. Charisteas is only the fourth striker in Werder after successful performances this season by Miroslav Klose, Ivan Klasnic, and young Nelson Valdez. According to O. Rehhagel, the main national team striker should play much more.
"He needs to play much longer," said O. Rehhagel. "For his own good, he should find a club where he would be the main striker. He should do that in January."
