In the last season, surprising many and finishing in the first Spanish quartet, Pamplona is strengthening for the upcoming season - on Wednesday, the club announced the acquisition of Iran's national team defender Javad Nekounam.
The 25-year-old Iranian, who has represented his country 73 times and played in this year's World Cup, traveled to Spain as a free agent, as his contract with the United Arab Emirates club "Al Sharjah" has expired.
J.Nekounam, who signed a two-year contract, is one of the most prominent Iranian players and one of the top ten contenders for the title of Asia's best player of the year.
"Osasuna," who also acquired defender Hector Font from "Villarreal" on Wednesday, finished fourth in the Spanish championship last season and earned the right to play in the UEFA Champions League next season.
