Oscar: the Chinese Championship has the potential to compete with the "Premier" League

The new acquisition of Shanghai SIPG, Oscar, believes that in the future the Chinese "Super" League could even challenge the English Premier League if clubs continue to attract stars.

The Brazilian himself moved to SIPG for 60 million euros and joined his national team colleague Hulk and former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas.

Players who have also chosen to play in China include Carlos Tevez, Axel Witsel, Ramires, Alex Teixeira, Ezequiel Lavezzi, John Obi Mikel, Graziano Pelle, Burak Yilmaz, Paulinho, Renato Augusto, Fredy Guarin, and Jackson Martinez.

"If they continue like this, maybe, because they have a lot of good projects," Oscar told Sky Sports when asked about the Chinese chances of competing with the Premier League.

"Of course, the level of the Premier League players is the highest in the world, but the Chinese guys are very good. They help a lot of new footballers and I hope it will continue, as I came here to help them."

"The transfer was good for me, good for Chelsea, good for Shanghai club, so I am very happy to have come to the Chinese 'Super' League."

"I think Chinese clubs are spending a lot of money to attract players to China because they want to strengthen the league. They made me an offer and I am very happy to have come here."

Oscar marked his debut with a goal in the first match wearing the SIPG jersey.
