Outburst of violence: F. Valverde struck a "Villarreal" player after the match © AP

“Villarreal” yesterday achieved an unexpected victory with a score of 3:2 against Madrid's “Real” team. After the match, an unpleasant incident occurred.

Royal club defender Federico Valverde was lurking in the parking lot for one of the “Villarreal” players, Alex Baena.

“Marca” reports that F. Valverde received a punch to the face from A. Baena.

The cause of the outbreak of violence was the hurtful words said by the “Villarreal” player in January. The 21-year-old Spaniard told the Uruguayan player during a match in January: “You can start crying now that your son won't be born.”

At that time, it seemed that F. Valverde's son not being born was a big concern in the family.

According to the Spanish press, the Uruguayan player wanted to strike his opponent during the match, but failed to do so. The backup plan was to wait in the parking lot. “I didn't forget what you said,” said the “Real” player during the match.

After being hit, Alex Baena quickly called for security, sparking a major scandal. It is not yet clear what penalties Fede Valverde may face.
