The team that finished in 3rd place in the previous season of the Spanish "La Liga" championship confirmed rumors that one of the team leaders, Argentinian Pablo Aimar, could leave the team and move to a new club.
Aimar moved to "Valencia" for 14 million pounds in 2001 and immediately became one of the team leaders, helping the team win the Spanish championship twice and the UEFA Cup. However, recently the Argentinian has not had a solid place in the main team led by Quique Flores and has spoken about leaving.
As reported, one of the most realistic contenders to acquire the talented 26-year-old midfielder is a French club. Former "Valencia" coach Rafa Benitez's "Liverpool" actively showed interest in the player before, but now it seems that the English have decided against acquiring Aimar.
Meanwhile, "Valencia" is actively interested in Nigerian national team and "Marseille" club defender Taye Taiwo. It is believed that the Spanish team may offer Aimar as part of the transfer fee for acquiring the talented Nigerian.
