The South American qualification for the 2022 World Cup has reached its halfway point. Thursday to Friday night Lithuanian time saw 5 more matches played. Argentina secured a 3-0 victory against Bolivia with Lionel Messi's hat-trick. Neymar, Messi's teammate at PSG, also shined by scoring a goal and assisting another as Brazil defeated Peru 2-0. Uruguay and Colombia also achieved important victories. Uruguay defeated Ecuador 1-0 at home, surpassing their opponent in the standings. Colombia defeated Chile 3-1 at home and equaled points with Ecuador. Paraguay also secured a 2-1 victory against Venezuela, leaving the Venezuelans at the bottom of the standings.
