Uruguay and Colombia also achieved important victories. Uruguay defeated Ecuador 1-0 at home, surpassing their opponent in the standings. Colombia defeated Chile 3-1 at home and equaled points with Ecuador. Paraguay also secured a 2-1 victory against Venezuela, leaving the Venezuelans at the bottom of the standings.
