Although Paco Buyo described current Madrid "Real" club star Cristiano Ronaldo and "Barcelona" sniper Lionel Messi as "football monsters", the legend of the "king" club does not believe that they are as capable as Diego Maradona once was.
The two best forwards in the world will return to the field today - "Barca" will once again face Bilbao "Athletic", while "Real" will test Chichon "Sporting" who came from a lower division.
The former footballer also said that if he were to play against Messi and Ronaldo, he wouldn't be afraid of either of them.
"Leo and Cristiano are players known for different qualities," - said the now 57-year-old Buyo to Omnisport.
"When I was the goalkeeper for Madrid "Real", with all due respect to Messi and Cristiano, I had the honor to compete against the greatest footballer of all time, Diego Maradona."
"Maradona was similar to Messi, and most of the time I would come out victorious in our duels. So, neither of them intimidates me."
"But the power of these football monsters is enormous. They enjoy scoring goals in La Liga and, most importantly, both can cause defenders endless troubles."
Last season, Messi led "Barca" to a treble by scoring 58 goals in 57 matches, while Ronaldo broke his own career scoring record with 61 goals in 54 matches.
