35-year-old Eidhoven's defender Phillip Cocu has extended his contract with the club for another year. The contract of the player, who is perpetually referred to as young, ended in June, but the defender decided to extend the contract and stay in the strongest "Eredivisie" league club for at least another 12 months. "These are great news for PSV," said Eidhoven club president Rob Westerhof. "Phillip is one of the main factors of the team's success, so I am very pleased that he will offer his vast experience to PSV for another season." Currently preparing with the Dutch national team for the upcoming World Cup, Phillip Cocu started his football career in 1988 at a club. After two years, the defender moved to Vitesse club. In 1995, Cocu signed a contract with PSV. Later in his career, he spent 6 seasons in Spain (1998-2004), and in 2004, he returned to Eidhoven. During his 18-year career, Phillip Cocu has won the Dutch league 3 times (1997, 2005, 2006) and the Spanish league once (1999). In 1998, the Dutch player won the European Super Cup.
